Some interpretations of the Epistle to the Galatians by Hans Klein lead to the topic of motivation for conversion and perseverance in this essay. Motivation encompasses both cognitive and emotional aspects. The Epistle to the Colossians, considered pseudepigraphical, is used for comparison in order to describe similarities and differences in both questions more precisely. The essay aims to encourage what it cannot achieve itself: to examine early Christian concepts of conversion and perseverance with the help of recent motivational psychology.
