About the Journal

Studia Universitatis Babeș-Bolyai (Studia UBB) is currently published in 29 series which reflect the full range of current specializations, faculties and departments of the University. The publication is issued on a quarterly, three times a year, biannually, or yearly basis, additionally with special issues.

The editorial activity carried on by Studia UBB is coordinated by the Scientific Council of the University, by the Editorial Committee (Editor-in-chief, Coordinator Editor from Research & Publications, 29 Editors-in-chief and by a number of 29 Editorial Boards) which establish the priorities and its way of functioning, the publication of some original or new studies, the increase of the qualitative level concerning its components, indexing of journals, the efficient participation to the exchange of publications with other Romanian or foreign universities etc.

From September 2021 onwards, all Studia UBB series changed their status to OPEN ACCESS Journals - Diamond Open Access.

 

The self financing - the main financial resource
According to the existent regulations, the system of the university publications is based on the self-financing method of the faculties; also, the financial sources may be ensured by grants or extrabudgetary funds resources.

The international exchange of this publication includes more than 1700 partners (73 countries, 200 institutions).
The circulation of the publication oscillates, depending on the requirement of the national and international exchange of the “Lucian Blaga” University Library, Cluj-Napoca. "Lucian Blaga" University Library, Cluj-Napoca acts as a distribution centre of the publication, through national and international exchange, for the printed version /online version of our journals.

 

Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai series - accredited by CNCSIS and CNCS
Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai publication was accredited by the National Research Council (CNCSIS, now CNCS), which, between 2000-2010-2020-now, initiated an ample action of annual evaluation/accreditation of the Romanian scientific publications. This action takes notice of the fact that for a university and a scientific career, elements like publications and the way the scientific products are seen from an international point of view, both on the level of a researcher and on a national one, eventually depends on the publication of the activity's results of the scientific research in publications quoted by some institutions of scientiometric measurement acknowledged around the world. The establishment of a hierarchy on a national level has an important long-term objective, that is an improvement of the way the Romanian science is seen.

A specialized department dealing with financial issues and other services deals with financial issues and other services, with the help of its subsidiary departments. The editorial activity for Print Production is coordinated by the editorial staff of the 29 Studia journals and by the Studia's Editorial Office.

Printing is provided by University's Printing House service or, following an auction organized by the University by other printing houses, according to legal regulations.
