What We Can Say About the Other: The Dynamics of Legitimisation in Anti-feminist Discourse. This article offers a comparative analysis of antifeminist discourses circulating within the Francophone and Italian-speaking manosphere. Drawing on French discourse analysis, lexicometry, and analyse du discours à l’entrée lexicale, as well as the notion of « dicibilté » derived from research on discursive cultures, we examine how these digital spaces construct and stabilize a depreciated figure of the Other. Based on a corpus in Italian and French consisting of publicly available content from social media platforms, forums, and blogs associated with antifeminist groups, the analysis highlights discursive convergences across the two spaces under study, while also revealing differences in the modalities of axiological positioning. It further points to a gradual shift in the boundaries of what is “sayable”, contributing to the normalization and wider circulation of previously marginalized representations.
