Frontiers and Antinomies between the Virtue of Justice and the Virtue of Love: Dilemmas in spiritual Life. In general, within the life of faith, the assumption of living the Christian virtues converges towards a fundamental soul unity that integrates the plurality and diversity of aretology (the teaching about the virtues). In other words, all Christian virtues are complementary, being interdependent bricks in the edifice of authentic spiritual life. But there are dilemmatic situations in which, at least at an early level, justice and love seem mutually exclusive, each having its own demands, the border between them seeming to be insurmountable. In the present article we will analyze some paradigmatic cases, suggesting ways to overcome the dilemma, to find the basic unity specific to spiritual progress.
