Abstract

The topic under consideration is the study of the oscillatory behaviour of the second-order nonlinear neutral difference equation of the form

Δ[r(ν)(Δ(V(ν) − q(ν)Vγ(δ(ν))))α] + P(ν)Vβ(η(ν)) = 0, ν ≥ ν0

of noncanonical type. We give an answer to a question raised in [10, Remark 4.1]. Our findings generalise the work of Dinakar et al. [14], Seghar et al. [20], and Thandapani and Selvarangam [21]. Two examples are given to demonstrate the analytical results. Finally, we state two open problems for future research.
